Brief Introduction of Department of Clinical Laboratory
Beijing Hospital Laboratory is a comprehensive laboratory integrating medical care, teaching and scientific research. Our department has 6 professional laboratories, they are: Biochemical Lab, Immunology Lab, Bacteriodiagnosis Lab, Visiting Routine Room and Visiting Routine Room in the north building and Molecular Biology Laboratory. Our office develops about 300 detection items and many special experiments, the quantity tops the big hospitals in Beijing. For instances, Myocardial damage markers, Homocysteine and Clostridium difficile A toxin and Urinary albumin, T cell sub-groups, tumor marker detection and Autoimmune-antibody testing. The department possesses about nearly 100 advanced international equipments, which are purchased respectively from America, Germany, France, the Netherlands and Japan, and some are firstly introduced or the one and only in domestic China. The Department is composed of 60 staffs, among them there are 4 chief physicians , 7 deputy-chief physicians and 16 doctors in charge. The educational background of whole department is above junior college degree, in which there are 7 masters, 3 returnees after studying abroad. Our department will receive 60 or 70 persons from all over the country each year who come to the hospital for advanced study, and still undertakes the teaching of Medical School of Peking University. Our annual specimen detection quantity is close to 600 millions copies, and we are also responsible in the various health-care works of senior carders. In order to ensure the detection result can be sent to the patients with accuracy, reliability and in time, our department has established a series of strict rules and regulations, which manage respectively in each steps before, during and after the analysis without any omission. Our department has a set of complete management system for inspection report, which carries out the system of triple-checking before, during and after the inspection until the results are given. The Lab carries out the quality control rules and regulations strictly, trailing and controlling the instruments everyday, we not only ensure the control of the quality inside the Lab, but also actively participating in the inter-lab quality control with other labs in the city, in the whole country, and in foreign countries; so we get excellent scores in this area, and has become the advanced group of quality control continuously for years. Our annual spending in the purchase of quality control consumables is 700 thousand RMB, which is exclusively unique in Beijing. Our department implements the system of sending out the report on the same day of biochemical and visiting routine inspection, and every other day in immunology lab and outpatient routine inspections and in 3 days of the germiculture inspections; The system of reporting special items in one week or one month, which is almost impossible to accomplish for the other departments of Laboratory of big hospitals in Beijing. It is near 5 years' time, we obtained 3 nation-wide research projects, 4 of Municipality or Ministerial level, 4 on department level, and won 2 awards of first class National Accomplishments of Science and Technology, two second class awards of Progress of Science and Technology on the department level , 4 awards of 3rd class of Progress of Science and Technology in Beijing, 2 first-class awards and of Accomplishments in Science and Technology, 4 second class awards and 5 3rd class awards on the department level
